"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness and into his marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9-10

Book Club update....
Yesterday, I hosted our ladies book club in which we discussed Glenn Beck's "Common Sense."
It was a delicious time of sharing ideas and speaking to our common concerns regarding the way this country seems to be embracing socialism, and the fact that our Constitution is being labeled irrelevant in this society, we spoke of the upcoming election process and what concerns us most, and what sort of future are we creating for our children?
It is always amazing to me how quickly time flies when you don't want it to....seriously, I could have done that all day...that is how good the company of those women is to me.
We are all very like-minded which creates wonderful intimacy and trust...it is so refreshing in this "gotta-go-don't-have-time-pulling-my-hair-out" society that we live in.
Interestingly, though, a common thread woven throughout was the idea that yes, we can identify the problems readily, however, what are we to do about them?
From there we discussed different ideas, different possible solutions, different ways of looking at the problems, etc.
What I got from all of that is this: we are all gifted in different ways, and God will equip us with the wisdom and knowledge to accomplish the solution.
Some of us are called to action.
Some are called to encourage those called to action.
Some of us are called to be prayer warriors.
Some of us are called to teach the younger generation.
Some are called to reach out to their neighbors.
Some are called to reach the masses.
God is the dream-giver and He will finish the work in us if we will allow Him.
"He who began a good work in you will complete it unto the day of the Lord."
This month we will be reading Sarah Palin's new book: "Going Rogue".
Come join in the discussion, we meet the first Monday of the month, and prepare to be challenged and encouraged, delighted and engaged.
Have a blessed day.

oh i would so love to be a part of your book club. i can only imagine the wonderful discussion that takes place there. if the time zones weren't so weird i'd suggest video conference, but 9 hours ahead is a bit difficult...
love your comment about the pull-your-hair out society (rough quote). Although Europe is in NO way a place to base a society on, i will admit that these Europeans know how to not be too busy. not too busy to sit and visit over coffee. not too busy to come in, sit down and chat. not too busy to wait patiently in the grocery line that is way too long and way too slow. although there is a slight "lazy" element to their slow pace, they also take time to be in relationship with each other. it's refreshing to not be to busy for people. oh, look another tangent on your blog...you're going to ban me. ;)
that is such a lovely thought isn't it?
a society that values relationships!
WOW!
that would be somethin'.
by the by...I could NEVER ban you, Kim.......you're my only reader.
